Android Tablet Restaurant Menus?
An article by ewoodesign
Comments Off Android is the very popular operating system by Google, and it’s popping up everywhere. But have you seen it in your local restaurant yet? This may sound silly at first, but more and more people are learning to use touch interfaces. The massive popularity of Amazon’s Kindle has helped close the generation gap too. Now more and more older people are using these tablet touch screen devices.
Tablet Menus Professionals can provide these fascinating devices. The addition of user interactive menus to restaurants boasts improved conversions for orders. They argue that with less time to think people are quicker to make impulse purchases and raise their bills.
Some of the other benefits of this device could be additional user information. While there is a severe space limitation on paper menus the room in a virtual one is pretty much endless. This could mean pictures, explanations, diet information, and even videos or interactive user content like surveys or dish reviews in the future!
It’s not hard to see how this is a natural step in the evolution of the food service industry. They also have software for self-ordering kiosks for cafeteria style environments. These machines free up staff to do more important tasks, and move the ordering process a long much quicker.
Similar to the self-check out services at many grocery stores. Now one worker can man several registers as the machines do most of the work for them. The ability to cross sell merchandise easily on this type of set up has shown to increase orders sizes dramatically which greatly boosts overall sales.
These kiosks can have payment options, but don’t have to. They are used in some applications just to help scale the ordering and streamline the food service process. A cashier can still handle the monetary transactions if desired. When tested in colleges the tech savy students were shown to be very receptive to the new devices. However, as expected older generations are not as happy about it and require additional help in using the machines.
