Asus Transformer Prime-Quad Core Android Tablet!
An article by ewoodesign
Comments Off I’ve been wanting a tablet for a while, but I haven’t been really sure which one to get. The Asus Transformer Prime is set to come out soon (available for pre-order!!) and it really caught my eye! It’s the first Android tablet available as a quad core which is pretty sweet. Many people’s biggest complaint about tablets are their lack of power. I think very soon that game will start changing.
I’m still a little torn, because I had my heart set on the ViewSonic dual boot version. I just have too many things that will be either difficult or impossible to do on Honey Comb (as sleek and nice looking as it is!). I’m not sure if the Asus Transformer will allow dual booting, but if it did that’d be a great feature.
It comes with a standard bright 10 inch display, and of course the advertised quad core Tegra processor. I’m a little disappointed at the RAM being only 1GB! Really? You threw a quad in there, but you could only manage one gigabyte of ram? It seems hardly worth this machine.
It has a front and rear facing camera which is nice, a micro SD slot for storage, a whopping 12 hours of battery life, and weight in at under two pounds! Some are saying that it might not sell as well due to a price increase putting it in the same market as the “iPad” but I doubt this will be a problem. I wouldn’t purchase an iPad because it’s not a serious computing device. If you want to play angry birds at the doctor’s office go for it, but I don’t expect much else from it.
