Do You Have Data BackUp And Recovery?

dat storage systems

If you do any business online you should know how important your data is. One hacker attack or server crash could send you right back to square one. I had that experience with another blog, and fortunately my hosting account had me covered. They make weekly backups of all my site files and my databases. Not everyone has that luxury though!

If I would have been on my own then I’d be starting from scratch. I had no backups of a three year old site, and that was a big mistake! If you have important customer information and business records on your site this makes it even more important for you. Even if you have backups from your hosting account you should still have your own backups as well.

Your hosting account will only guarantee your backups to a certain extent. If they have a massive shared service crash and lose them you could be out of luck. Paying for your own data storage systems could be a wise business investment. You can purchase emergency backups in case of disaster, long term bulk storage for your large files, cloud access, and even digital security services.

If you don’t have the capacity to use these operations on your own servers or the current rented space you have this could be a great option. Not only do you have separate locations which helps prevent downtime of all systems. You also can get more storage for less money usually.

If you can contain these systems to other servers then they won’t be weighing down your main website. Having all of these operations on the main servers can really slow you down if you have a website of any popularity.
