Using The Internet For Used Car Deals

When I was nineteen I bought a brand new car. I was excited until I realized exactly how much money I lost doing so. Many people are inclined towards new cars instead of used ones because of the warranty or fear that an older car breaks down all the time. The fact is that none of those fears are warranted.

A warranty usually covers surprisingly little and if you have a brand new car – chances are you won’t even need it until it’s already expired anyway. My last two vehicles have been used cars and I was nothing but happy with them. My least satisfying purchase was still the brand new vehicle. Did you know that if you have a loan you already owe more than the car is worth as soon as you drive it off the lot? New cars lose 25% of their value in the first 12 months.

I’ve also found both my last two used cars online. This helped me not only find the best deal, but saved me lots of time. (And found me the color I wanted!) No driving around lots and getting sweet talked by smooth salesmen. You can use a site like motors.co.uk to compare local vehicles. Craigslist is also a good option.

You might even be able to find a vehicle with lots of premium after market upgrades included in the price if that’s you’re game. Think custom paint jobs, stereo equipment, ect. You can get a pre-owned luxury vehicle for tens of thousands of dollars cheaper buying it used. My current car is a BMW 325 convertible that I love even though it’s an older model.

If you want something newer you can still save a substantial amount buying last year’s used car. Some people just shed vehicles like there’s no tomorrow or they had a lease. This will save you a bundle and the car will still be practically new! If you want to compare vehicles on the go or at a lot to see if you’re getting a good deal you can also use the motors.co.uk iphone app!
